Team registration will be held Thursday, March 24 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Arlington Hilton on Lamar in North Arlington.

The Texas Lightning Youth Cup Tournament is scheduled for March 25 & 26 2005.

The Texas Lightning Youth Cup is offered to Competitive Teams (U-11 through U-15) and Academy Teams (U8, U9, U10), both boys and girls. The format will be 9 v 9 including the goalie for Academy Teams. There will be a 3 game minimum with bracket advancement to finals. Youth Cup Games will be played at Cedar Hill Sports Complex for all U11 through U15 teams, and at the Harold Patterson Sports Complex for all Academy (U8 through U10) teams. All games wii be held the 25th and 26th. Team registration will be March 24th at the Arlington Hilton.

Application:
Must be completed on-line in its entirety.

At check-in you will also need:
  • 2 copies of your official team roster
  • Guest Player Releases, if applicable
  • Medical Release for each player, including Guest Player(s)
  • if applicable, Travel Papers/Cards

Deadline:
February 25, 2005 * Application fee must be received within 5 days of your application. By submitting your application, you are agreeing to participate in the tournament if accepted. *Failure to submit entry fee does NOT serve as notification that your team has chosen not to participate. Tournament Director must be notified.

Notice of Acceptance:
Accepted Teams will be posted on the website, www.texaslightning.org on March 1, 2005. Teams not accepted will not be posted on the website and will receive a full refund. In case of tournament cancellation, 50% of fee will be retained to cover tournament start-up costs. If you register for both Dallas Cup and Texas Lightning Showcase and make the Dallas Cup quarterfinals, you will be refunded your entire fee and a standby team will replace your team in the Showcase Schedule.

Team Requirements:
Academy Teams may have 14 on roster, no guests. U-11 through U-15 - 18 players with up to 5 guest players. All players must be registered with the teams’ state association for insurance purposes.

Age Groups: Academy Teams are U8, U9, and U10, U-11 through U-15 Competitive Teams

Awards: Presented to 1st & 2nd Place

  2. U-11 through U-15 - $375.00

Field Locations for the Youth Cup - Cedar Hill Sports Complex, 2850 Park Ridge Drive, Cedar Hill, TX, 75104 and Harold Patterson Sports Complex, 1800 Wimbledon Drive, Arlington, TX, 76017

Participation: 3 game minimum with advancement to finals

Referees:
When available, all games will use a 3-man referee system. Referees will be USSF certified.

Lodging/Hotels:
Teams are required to utilize the hotels designated by the tournament.

*In order for teams to participate in the 2005 Texas Lightning Youth Cup, they must be USSF State Affiliates and provide an Official State Roster.

**Please be aware that games will begin each day at approximately 7:30 AM with the last game beginning at approximately 8:00 PM, so make your traveling arrangements accordingly. We wish you to be aware of this schedule in the event your school does not recess for Good Friday.
