COLLEGE COACHES INFORMATION

 

This year’s Texas Lightning Sophomore/Junior/Senior Showcase Tournament will begin Thursday evening, April 9th with a College Style Clinic hosted by The Sport Source® through Saturday, April 10th, 2009, with Showcase games played on Friday and Saturday only.  The Event will be “Unrestricted” so Competitive Teams, US Club Teams and Foreign Teams may apply.

 

The Texas Lightning Soccer Club was established in 1992 and is based in Arlington, Texas. The club philosophy is to specifically develop a youth soccer program whose goals are to achieve a developmental program in which youth soccer players can train and compete at various levels of competition and, therefore, provide opportunities to achieve state, regional, national, and collegiate soccer accomplishments.

 

The Club has helped to place numerous players in state & regional ODP teams and has produced five National Team Players.  The club has also helped place over 250 players into universities and colleges through soccer scholarships.  Some of those colleges are:  Duke University, Rhodes College, Texas A&M, West Point, USC, TCU, Brown University, Radford University, University of South Carolina, LSU, Naval Academy and many more!

Last year’s event attracted top teams throughout the area and was attended by over 180 college coaches representing NCAA  I, II & III, NAIA and NJCAA schools.

Once again, the competition for this event will be held at the Harold Patterson Sports Complex in Arlington, Texas.
